Windows 2000 Service Pack 3
Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3) provides the latest updates to the Windows 2000 family of operating systems. These updates are a collection of fixes in the following areas: security, application compatibility, operating system reliability, and setup. Windows 2000 SP3 includes the updates contained in Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP2) . Windows 2000 SP3 is a recommended upgrade. Before beginning an installation of Windows 2000 SP3, take note of the following system requirement considerations:

Operating system You can install SP3 only on computers running Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Advanced Server, or Windows 2000 with Server Appliance Kit.

Disk space The space requirements depend on how you install SP3. These requirements are the same for both CD and Web installations of the service pack, but the requirements are different if you install the service pack from a shared network distribution folder. Restart your computer to complete the installation.
Important As with previous Service Packs, if any programs or
services have been installed that require or have fixes contained in Windows
2000 SP3, uninstalling Windows 2000 SP3 can adversely affect those
programs.
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then
click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- Click Windows 2000 Service Pack 3.
- Click Change/Remove.
